The Parish Church of

St Peter and St Paul

Bishops Hull

WELCOME!

About us

Welcome to the Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul, Bishop's Hull, Taunton

The parish of Bishop's Hull is situated to the West of the county town of Taunton. The Eastern end of the parish stretches into the town centre and the Northern edges into the countryside. There are over 3000 residents and the centre of the village has the church, a butcher's, a post office, a pub, a club and a hotel.
The church is situated in the centre of the village on the top of the hill. It has a Norman tower and chapel and 16th and 19th century additions.

In the Parish Church of St Peter & St Paul two traditions offered regular worship and other activities to the village. Several years ago the Parish Church (CofE) and Taunton United Reformed Church (URC) agreed to share the same premises and so offered a united witness to Christ. Until recently the CofE Sunday Services were held mostly in the morning and URC in the evening with the two traditions coming together in shared united worship several times a year. Due to the retirement of the URC minister in 2013 there are no regular evening services held in this church at the moment. But who knows what the future will bring!
